Victory
Victory
was built by Andrew Barclay and Sons Ltd. in 1945 for the Royal
Navy, it was used at Chatham Dockyard in Kent until 1969. Victory
then languished in a local scrapyard until 1972 when it was
purchased for preservation and like No. 1, was moved to the South
Eastern Steam Centre at Ashford where it was restored to working
order. The move to Castle Hedingham came in 1978 and has been
used regularly ever since. It is owned by the Colne Valley
Railway Company and carries Royal Navy blue livery.
